Every journey has a story. Share the places, people and experiences that make Nagaland special, and help fellow travellers explore with curiosity, care and respect.
Visit Nagaland welcomes travellers, residents, photographers and anyone who would like to contribute an original travel story or destination guide. You do not need to be a professional writer. A thoughtful account, useful local knowledge and a few meaningful photographs can help someone plan a better visit.
Submit by email: Send your story or destination guide and up to four photographs to contact@visit-nagaland.com. Please read the requirements below before submitting.
What you can contribute
- Personal travel experiences, village visits, walks and journeys across Nagaland.
- Destination introductions and practical guides based on your own visit or local knowledge.
- Stories about food, culture, festivals, crafts, nature and community experiences.
- Responsible travel tips, accessibility observations and lessons that could help other visitors.
- Photo-led stories that include enough written context to explain the place and experience.
This is a space for independent, non-commercial contributions. Advertisements, sales pitches, paid backlinks, promotional offers and disguised business endorsements are not accepted. If you have a personal or business connection to a place or service mentioned, please disclose it. Business listing enquiries belong outside the story submission process.
What to include with your story
- A title: Give your story a clear, descriptive title.
- Your name: Tell us the name or pen name you would like displayed with your contribution.
- A private contact email: So the editorial team can ask questions about your submission. Your email is not intended for publication.
- The destination: Include the village or town, district and relevant place names.
- The date: State the month and year of your visit, or when you last verified local information.
- Your story: Explain what you experienced, what makes the place interesting and what another traveller should know.
- Useful details: Where relevant, include directions, walking difficulty, meal options, facilities, permissions, seasonal conditions and approximate costs. State when prices were checked.
- Photographs and credits: Include no more than four photographs, with captions and the correct photographer credit for each.
As a guide, aim for around 400–1,200 words. Shorter contributions with useful local information are also welcome. Write naturally, distinguish personal impressions from facts, and identify anything you are unsure about. Submissions in English are preferred; explain local words and check the spelling of names where possible.
Photograph requirements: a maximum of four
Choose up to four photographs per submission. Select clear images that help readers understand the destination or experience. A strong selection is more useful than several similar photographs.
- Prepare photographs as JPG, PNG or WebP files, preferably no larger than 5 MB each. These are preparation guidelines; any upload form will show its actual limits.
- Include a short caption, location and photographer name for every image. Add the month and year if known.
- Submit your own photographs, or photographs for which you have permission covering publication on Visit Nagaland. Identify any image taken by someone else and provide evidence of permission when requested.
- Obtain appropriate permission before sharing identifiable portraits, especially photographs of children or private and sensitive moments.
- Respect village rules, sacred places, restricted locations and community photography customs. Avoid sharing sensitive wildlife locations.
- Do not submit images copied from Google, social media or another website merely because you can credit the source. Do not present AI-generated scenes as photographs of a real destination.
We may select fewer than four photographs, resize or compress files, and crop images for the page layout while preserving their meaning. Photographer credits will accompany the published photographs or appear in a clearly identified photo-credit section.
How the editorial team will edit your contribution
Every submission will be reviewed before publication. Our editorial team may edit the title, spelling, grammar, structure, length, captions and practical details so the contribution serves the purpose of Visit Nagaland: useful, readable and responsible travel information.
We may check facts, remove promotional or unsupported claims, request clarification, and add relevant context or links to destination guides. We aim to preserve your voice and the meaning of your experience. We will seek clarification before making a change that would materially alter your account, and will not invent experiences or quotations on your behalf.
The contributor’s chosen name will be credited on the published story or destination contribution. Photographs will receive their own photographer credits. A published piece may also be labelled “Edited by Visit Nagaland”. Credit does not guarantee a promotional link or endorsement.
Submission does not guarantee publication or a particular publication date. We may decline material that is inaccurate, unsafe, discriminatory, intrusive, copied, primarily promotional or outside the website’s scope. We may also update or remove published material when corrections, rights concerns or changing conditions require it.
Your ownership and permission to publish
You retain copyright in your original writing and photographs. By submitting material and agreeing to these guidelines, you give Lendlink Tech Private Limited, the operator of Visit-Nagaland.com, a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to review, edit, format and publish the accepted material on Visit-Nagaland.com, including excerpts and thumbnails that link to the contribution elsewhere on the website. You remain free to publish your own work elsewhere, subject to any separate commitments you have made.
This permission does not authorise us to sell your photographs or reuse your contribution in third-party advertisements. Separate permission will be sought for uses outside the scope above. Tell us about any existing restrictions before submitting.
Contributions are voluntary. There is no submission or publication fee, and no payment is offered unless separately agreed in writing. Taking part does not guarantee bookings, traffic, business leads or other benefits.
Respectful and accurate storytelling
Share what you know without exposing someone else’s private information. Avoid publishing personal contact details, unverified allegations or sensitive cultural information without permission. Clearly attribute local accounts and oral histories, and explain when a detail has not been independently verified. Describe people and communities with dignity and follow local guidance on access and photography.
Before submitting, confirm that the work is yours or properly authorised, the facts are accurate to the best of your knowledge, any relevant connections have been disclosed, and you agree to editorial review and the publication permission above.
